From the British Transport Police press release:

Quote
British Transport Police (BTP (British Transport Police)) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a rail passenger^s luggage.

Officers have today released a CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) image of woman they believe will have information which can assist their investigation into the incident which took place between Camborne and Redruth rail stations on Saturday, 3 November 2012.

Investigating officer, PC Steve Kelley, said: ^The victim boarded the 1400hrs Penzance to London service at St Erth station at around 3.31pm. She placed her pink suitcase in the luggage rack at the end of the carriage but discovered it missing when she went to check it later in the journey.

^Enquiries are ongoing and at this stage of the investigation, I am keen to identify and speak to the woman in this photograph as I believe she will have key information which can assist police. The woman in the photograph boarded the train at Camborne and got off at Redruth station.

Anyone who knows the identity of the woman is asked to contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In all calls, please quote incident reference B10/WWA of 22/11/2012.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Did the train really take an hour and a half to get from Penzance to St Erth (even allowing for the mixture of 12 and 24 hour clock in the quote)?

From the British Transport Police press release:

Do you recognise this man? BTP appeals for information after theft of passenger^s property ^ Redruth

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger^s property from on board a train in Cornwall.

Officers have today released CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) images of a man they believe will have information which can assist their investigation into the incident which happened on Sunday, 25 November 2012.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Dave Bailey, said: ^The victim and his wife were travelling on the 1955hrs Liskeard-Penzance service on Sunday, 25 November 2012. The victim had placed his suitcase and coat on the luggage rack in the first carriage of the train. When the train was approaching Redruth station, the man^s wife noticed that the case was missing from the rack and was at the feet of a man standing by the train door.

^The victim challenged the man who claimed he had picked it up by mistake before handing it back. When they returned to their seats, the victim and his wife then noticed that his coat, which contained a mobile phone and car keys, was also missing from the luggage rack.

^Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the person who stole the victim^s property. I am now appealing for anyone who knows the identity of the man in these photographs as I believe he will have key information which can assist this investigation.^

Anyone with information which they think can help, is asked to contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111. In all calls please quote incident reference B5/WWA of 02/01/2013.

A friend of mine had to accost 2 dodgy characters at Hayle station making off with his bags. They got on at Camborne. Seems to be a bit of a hot-spot for this sort of thing.

Wish I'd seen it as he's only a little guy but he said the transport police had to warn him as he lost it! Anyway, even in relatively crime free West Cornwall this sort of thing still happens.
