I rode one of these this weekend for the first time and actually, it was okay - roomy with good views. I'll stick with the voyagers or hst's for the Newton A to Exeter run but for a daytrip out to Dawlish, it was pretty good.

I rode one of these this weekend for the first time and actually, it was okay - roomy with good views. I'll stick with the voyagers or hst's for the Newton A to Exeter run but for a daytrip out to Dawlish, it was pretty good.
Thats because you were on the mainline. Try one on a trip to Exmouth or Barnstaple, where there are long sections of jointed rail. It's a bit different! |

Thats because you were on the mainline. Try one on a trip to Exmouth or Barnstaple, where there are long sections of jointed rail. It's a bit different! Digby-Exmouth and Lympstone area come to mind! |

When we had all the flooding a couple of Fridays ago, I saw a lovely sky blue 'St Ives Bay Belle' on platform 3 at Bristol Temple Meads. Not a problem, I just wondered what sort of tidal wave had brought it all the way up to Bristol!
