I was speaking to an FGW (First Great Western) employee yesterday who was looking to build a photo timeline of how Thatcham station has changed over the years but I am struggling to find any "old" photos of it and I am wondering if anyone here can help

I believe the station was rebuilt in 1987 so it's really photos before than. I believe the original station dates back to when the live was first built

I've not been able to find anything on the interweb

Thanks in advance

The English Heritage Archive in Swindon holds at least one collection of pictures of Railway Stations; I came across it when I was there. I can find one picture, from 1961, via this downloadable guide-cum-catalogue English Heritage Industrial Heritage Collections. There may be more, but it's hard to be sure as they don't seem to have an overall accessions list or catalogue. Access to Archives does not even find that picture.

Former railway employee and prolific photographer David Canning might have something.

He worked many signalboxes along the B&H (Berks and Hants - railway line from Reading to Taunton via Westbury) and has published a number of books.

This link to one gives his contact details - http://www.finial.ndirect.co.uk/40years.html
