William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

We are (or were) indeed. Grin

That is the view northwards along the dam built to create Blagdon Lake in the 1890s.

Directly behind me was the terminus station of the Wrington Vale Light Railway - now a charming private residence, as featured on the front cover of 'Somerset Stations, Then and Now', by Mike Oakley (ISBN 978-1-904-34994-5)
