In celebration of The Queen's 90th Birthday this weekend ... https://www.queenscelebration.com

Lots of events all around the country ... volunteers at the Melksham Rail Development Group will be unveiling a poster celebrating Melksham Station through the Queen's rein tomorrow when the first train calls.

I'm not a royalist - but I have a great respect for the Queen and what she's done all these years, and I hope I look as good at 90.   Happy Birthday, Ma'am

I sincerely hope the additional posters and pull-ups at Melksham Station in celebration of her Majesty's birthday aren't in any way obscuring the all-important notice regarding the next West Wilts Rail Users Group meeting?  Tongue Grin

No, they aren't.   At present, the West Wilts Rail User Group frame at Melksham station contains their generic information, as their next event is a trip on the TransWilts to Swindon and Steam on 9th July, so marketing-wise their concentration will be on Trowbridge and Westbury, with connectional promotion from Bradford-on-Avon and Warminster.   It would be pretty illogical for their Melksham members to go down to Trowbridge first just to join them to come back on through.

Their following meeting is on 20th September at The Railway Inn, Westbury; I'm booked to attend present that talk.

Following up on "Station to Station", a nice article in the Wiltshire Times about the life and times of Melksham Station, using the picture from the Queen's display.
