From the
Farnham Herald:
New railway station parking deck opens
The top deck of Farnham railway station’s new car park has finally opened to the public, delivering the 170 additional spaces promised by South West Trains.
Alton Line Users’ Association chairman David Jones was the first to drive on to the new deck on September 30, having campaigned tirelessly for nine years to secure the improvements.
He said: “One of my first priorities when I took over as Alton Line Users’ Association chairman was to get that car park done. Now they’ve done it I feel so chuffed."
He added that there were still “one or two issues" for the rail operator to address – Alton Line Users’ Association has received complaints about the new car park’s entrance and a skip on the pavement outside the two-storey building, but he expects those issues to be corrected “in due course”.
Parking charges remain the same, with a daily ticket costing £7.50 Monday to Friday, or £2 after 4pm on weekdays, all day Saturday and Sunday and on public holidays.
Weekend specials cost £6 and weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tickets are also available.
