Early and provisional media reports state that an electrical item has caused an explosion at Euston station.
Believed to be an accident and not any form of attack.
 
EARLY REPORTS ONLY subject to later confirmation.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU▸ (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

UPDATE to state, network rail station evacuated, underground services still running but not stopping at Euston.
No one hurt, as far as is known.

Now said to have been the result of an e-cigarette exploding.

My travels this week have taken me from Milton Keynes Central to Euston so coming home last night I caught the 1916 Virgin service so I am both glad and lucky I missed it.
