Since January 2014, the Coffee Shop has hosted an extra board - the "TransWilts Community Rail Partnership" board - which since its formation has attracted over 1000 posts in 130 topics.   The main reasons for a separate board were to avoid cluttering the main forum with yet more topics about the Swindon to Westbury line for Coffee Shop members who were not conceded with this particular line, and to allow posts which discussed ideas which - whilst not private - were not things that we wanted shouted in public (it's very awkward when someone turns up for a train that has been suggested in a public post but does not exist, by way of example).

With the TransWilts service now very much established as a regular part of the franchise service, we can consider it to be "grown up", and the TransWilts CIC (Community Interest Company ) board - parent of the CRP (Community Rail Partnership) - is making some changes.  In particular, The Board has asked that the link between the Coffee Shop and TransWilts, which could be read as a formal link because of the presence of that special board, be removed. The Coffee Shop and the TransWilts CRP are thus more clearly defined as separate from each other now.  Members of the Coffee Shop who were designated "TransWilts Members" will revert to post-count membership, and (except for those with very few posts indeed) will find that nothing has really changed.

This TransWilts board decision is a good one - it allows the Coffee Shop to be confirmed as being independent of Train Operator Community Rail funding, and it enables the TransWilts Board to confirm that views expressed on the Coffee Shop may not be views supported / sponsored in any way by The Board.

Over the past three days, all threads on the TransWilts CPR board (except the one there announcing this change) have been moved to other boards as appropriate.  [edit - have just moved that final thread ((here))  in "Frequent Posters"]. They have not been re-dated, so may appear all down those other boards.  Most (as you might expect) are now on the TransWilts line area; second most popular target is Frequent Posters.  But there are perhaps a dozen other boards that have received a few posts as well.   Please let me know if you feel I have made any errors in the relocation - it's been a long manual task, and as regular members know I am not errrrrror-freeee.

A further benefit of this move is that much of our archive material which is no longer confidential is now available in public, and in due course will become visible through search engines.  I anticipate that this, together with the ACoRP (Association of Community Rail Partnerships) shortlisting and other activities, will help us continue to maintain our post and interest level even in a world where much of the forum traffic has been replaced by social media streams.

Please follow links in the first column (thread no.) to read the moved posts. Please quote that thread number to me if you want to raise issues about any specific thread relocation, as that will help me find it.  Please note that if you are a guest of a member who has made very few posts, you will not be able to see the body of anything I have moved to "Frequent Posters" even though you can now see the title.

Thanks for all your work with that restructuring of the Coffee Shop forum, grahame.  Lips sealed
