I've noticed HST (High Speed Train)'s in Reading Depot recently, and to-day I realised why.  They go there for tyre turning.  The wheel lathe shed is behind the main shed, and this morning there was half an HST sticking out of the doors.

As an aside, I caught the 1437 Oxford - Didcot Parkway this afternoon.  Because the 1431 Oxford - Padd  HST was stuck in P3 with a passenger issue (I think), a quick decision was taken to re-platform the 1437 (coming from the Down sidings) from P3 to P4.  The signalling allows simultaneous up movements from P3 and P4 as far as Hinksey North, so the 1437 was able to clear P4 on to the Up Main up to Hinksey North and the 1431 HST used the Up Relief (?).  As it happened the HST got there first and got the route onwards towards Radley.  It was a good example of the flexibility of the new Oxford layout.
