The excellent Retours website (railway history design and photography) features a section on corporate identities for European railway companies. Chosen to model Britain's distinctive double arrow logo, a name board at Severn Beach has stepped up to the plate.

One thing that is still striking is how good the DRU typeface and signage was (and is) - it remains unsurpassed for legibility.

How I would love to see it replace the dull Network Rail blue signage (typeface not bold enough and too small) the ugly spindly typeface spreading across GW▸ (Great Western) stations!
