Mondays from 14/11 to a date mid December I've forgotten megabus are offering all fares on selected routes for a quid.
Bristol to Plymouth is one of the selected routes.
Heard on radio. I'm booked this Monday to have a few hours out in Bristol.
My booking is on a falcon service both ways which is been wanting to try for a while anyway. £1 each way was unavoidable use of my week off!

Here's the link to the offer:

http://uk.megabus.com/travel-for-less-on-mondays.aspx

It appears the offer is only available on the 'Falcon' route between Plymouth and Bristol and the stops in between at Exeter and Taunton.

£1 each way and a 50p booking fee.

To some extent Friday already is - in terms of traffic flows, if not (for most TOCs (Train Operating Company)) in terms of fares.

This thread is now 4 years old. Playing around with the site, day return fares from London to Bristol seem to start from ?12.69, London to Cardiff from ?14.96.
I didn't see any ?1 fares but then I wasn't looking particularly hard.

From Express and Star

Quote
A rail company will allow West Midland passengers to travel to London at off-peak rates on Fridays, starting today.

The move, by Avanti West Coast, will see the large cuts to the cost of early-morning train journeys.

It will see the price of a standard rush-hour one-way ticket from Shrewsbury to London, bought on the day of travel, cut from ?151.50 to ?55.90, a saving of 63 per cent.

The fare from Wolverhampton to London will fall from ?92.00 ?42.20, a cut of 54 per cent.

I didn't see this first time around - I like the TV clip! That said, I did Tiverton Parkway to Heathrow and back with Falcon / Megabus, and it was Ok. The change of buses in Bristol wasn't quite the same experience as a change of platform at Temple Meads, but I've had worse days on National Express, and it was cheap as chips, as they say.

Interesting return itinerererery, though. Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Tokyo Narita to stopover at Abu Dhabi, Etihad A380 to LHR, then Megabus, change outside Fabric Land...
