RailFuture Severnside branch meetings have traditionally been on Saturdays, at key locations at the heart of the region (i.e. in Bristol or Gloucester).  However, in 2019 the AGM (Annual General Meeting) at Dilton Marsh and the general meeting at Stonehouse - both designed to give members a rail / campaign interest location to go to - were both very successful. For this year, carrying on that theme:

AGM on 4th April 2020 - Tavern Inn, Kemble - see other thread.  Inviting a speaker from the Kemble to Cirencester campaign to address the meeting too.

Thursday 4th June, early evening, White Horse Meeting Room on Westbury Station, speaker - Paul Johnson of TransWilts.   This has developed from a suggestion of meeting somewhere that's an easy trip out one summer's evening with an opportunity to grab a bite of for at the pub, and hear an update from a local expert who's looking ahead at rail development - medium and long term in that area.

September, Saturday to be decided - Taunton area meeting to spotlight on campaign for a station at Wellington.

Saturday 21st or 28th November - Oldfield Park - pre-Christmas meeting; speaker t.b.a.

These latter events to be exactly set / fleshed out by the new committee elected on 4th April.

I’m assuming their AGM (Annual General Meeting) has been cancelled?

I’m assuming their AGM (Annual General Meeting) has been cancelled?

I have been in touch with the secretary who tells me it has been cancelled. I'm also told that the branch had occasional telephone conference in the past (well before my time) but they made no binding decisions, and it sounds like that is not a route of choice due to limited success.

A booking for 4th June has been kept "in the hope that restrictions on meetings may be eased by then".  I will post further news as I get it.
