One of the effects of privatisation / deregulation / franchising and open access of the bus and rail industries has been the plethora of operators in some places, with competing, not integrated timetables and ticketing - and not even sharing each other's information.  I got into very hot water indeed concerning a document I put together in Melksham a couple of years back - but that now feels like another era.   So let's try again.

All Melksham public transport that will be running from 30th March 2020 is listed at http://www.mrug.org.uk/coronavirus.html and the intent is that this page will be updated as changes come to our attention.

At the present time, with travel discouraged, I half wonder "why bother?" ... but there are still some people who need to travel and they need the information that's been fast changing these past weeks.    And I would very much like to be able to continue this once we're past the pandemic - whatever new world we find ourselves in.

Changing times, though.  Last month, there were six public transport providers in Melksham. Next month, just three of them will be providing public transport here.
