Delays to services between Chippenham and Westbury

Following a fault with the signalling system earlier today between Chippenham and Westbury the line has now reopened.
Train services running through these stations are returning to normal. Disruption is expected until 08:30 29/10.

... and the following are now cancelled:

Quote
16:25 Westbury to Swindon due 17:08
17:36 Swindon to Westbury due 18:17
18:39 Westbury to Swindon due 19:21

They could be, but for the fact that the parts of the SW have some of the highest Covid rates in the country, which may also be behind the staff shortages.  The Pandemic is not over whatever Boris says.

October 2021 ... 512 services scheduled, 490 show as running and calling at Melksham, of which 352 registered "on time".   Here is the rogue's gallery:

09:10   Westbury      a fault on this train
13:40   Westbury      a points failure

19:59   Westbury      a fault on this train
16:28   Westbury      a shortage of train crew
15:19   Swindon      a shortage of train crew

Very much using automated tools today - I have the raw data if I need to go back.   Cancellation rate around 4% (works out at 3.7% or 4.3% depending on what actually happened in the three "--" cases) which is hugely improved on the 8% type of figure we have seen, but still needs attention to get it below 2%.
