Avon Valley?

Yes - from Brown's Folly above Bathford, with Batheaston behind the railway line.    Went there last night to meet (my first time) with the Melksham Amateur Photography Group (((here)) on Facebook) who had an outing there - 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. meet and a lovely group of people.   Very much set up for drivers, though - "meet at the car park" is a sorta clue. I left home to catch the 4:20 bus which is the last one though Bathford, left the meeting at about 8:30 to walk down to Batheaston to catch the mid-evening bus home (arrived at around 10 p.m) so that was about 5 hours and 40 minutes away from home - as opposed to 3 hours max for a complete meet if I had driven.

I will accept some sympathy for the extra time taken but not a huge amount. It allowed me to learn about these particular journeys (I'm not often on the 4:22 nor the 21:05 off Bath). It allowed me a chance to look around a wider area on my own.  It gave me another personal illustrative case (and various elements within it) of why people are put off the bus. It gave me a chance to sit in the countryside, have my picnic and check my email in a different location (yes, laptop with me), and it  meant I met someone who works in a very different transport role at the bus stop, and learn more there too.  That's in addition to meeting the lovely people in the group itself.

Random images from the evening ... refresh to get different picture(s)
