"From Ushant to Scilly is 35 leagues."

From Roscoff to the nearest point on GWR (Great Western Railway)'s network probably just as far, not sure where that's going to be. A friend having arrived via the Plymouth ferry kindly dropped by Roscoff station before heading off on a cycle.

Morlaix to Roscoff having been out of use for some time, courtesy of a twitternaut who flagged it, here's an article (in French) from autumn 2021.

I am afraid the Roscoff line is in a terrible state and SNCF (Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais - French National Railways) seem to be able to semi-close lines like this without much come-back . I haven't seen a train on the line for some time and I suspect its the replacement bus that is going tobe the norm for the forseeable future. Having said that the replacement bus is not too bad!

Most of the sleepers looked in poor state when I last visited about 10 years ago. A single car modern unit was working 2 round trips a day at that point. I have photos somewhere of the sleepers but not sure where now!

In an even worse state now according to a Twitter traveller, who also discovered to his cost that despite what various online sources say, the bus to Morlaix no longer serves the station.
