Just noticed that Penzance (& in the to London direction as well) bound IET (Intercity Express Train)'s now seem to be running with 1H designators, instead of the usual 1C..
In the up direction, it used to be 1A..
Just wondering why the change.

Is it to do with the diversion via Brizzle?

Because of the closure through Castle Cary services are being diverted via Bristol Temple Meads.  Some then run through Bath and Chippenham while others go on the “top road” and quicker route via (H)ullavington - the route normally taken by GWR (Great Western Railway) services from South Wales.

D'oh.  Yes, of course.
Would have assumed they would have kept their usual 1A/1C designators despite the route change, as they are West Country services (no matter where they are routed via).
Guess the designator is essential for computerised routing purposes.

Many thanks Phil & bobm
