Where were we on 3 November?

My wife and I had a short UK^▸ break last week and travelled around our destination area by train on Thursday. We found ourselves at this striking modern station exit. Where was it?

(Apologies for poor quality of picture - the light level was low, but it saves me editing out any giveaway notices!)

The colourful banners in the background suggest a royalist city and a Welsh connection.
The two-way arrows on the ticket gates looked at my first sight to suggest a place that encourages gender transitions.
But I don't know where it is.

Rochester. Seems to be based on a bit of its coat of arms.

Correct Stuving!

The replacement of Rochester station by a new one a little to the west (nearer the Medway bridge) was something that had entirely passed me by, and it was only as we were pulling into Rochester from the east and passing what were clearly a set of relatively recently abandoned platforms that I became aware of it.

They seem to have made a good job of it, and it's now a somewhat more convenient position for the two highlights of the town (city?), namely the cathedral and castle, both of which are worth a visit.

And the platforms, the up in particular, are the windiest and coldest that I know of in any urban area.
