At the risk of hijacking this topic  Shocked  Grin  There has been a process over the last quarter centaury to de-carbon transport in and into / out of London especially diesel due to the particulates.

A very interesting topic ... I have started with Paddington:

Paddington (main line)

- first regular steam train - 1838?
(steam trains only)
- first regular diesel train - 1958
(steam and diesel trains)
- last regular steam train - 1965
(diesel trains only)
- first regular electric train - 1998
(diesel and electric trains only)
- last regular diesel train - 2019
(electric trains only)
* - Is there still a single early morning diesel departure to Greenford?

1863 - Opening of Metropolitain Railway (as Western terminus) - steam
1908 - Electrification of Metropolitain Railway
1913 - Electric (Bakerloo) line trains arrive

Now - help me please ...

Marylebone (main line)

- first regular steam train - 1899
(steam trains only)
- first regular diesel train - 1962?
(steam and diesel trains)
- last regular steam train - ???
(diesel trains only)

1913 - Electric (Bakerloo) line trains arrive

There was an ITN video of passengers 'rushing to get the last train out of Paddington' on Christmas Eve - 2N52 (1556 London Paddington to Reading). It was a pair of Turbos - 165105 and 165117

They're still there irregularly - I believe that the opening on 27th December was also diesel based;  electric overhead turned off over Christmas, perhaps for planned works?

Checked back on Real Time Trains - the first four trains arriving in service were all turbos - between 2 and 4 carriages long - from Reading (2 trains), Didcot and Newbury.  Wonder where they got the turbos from.

Yeah, there's the first Greenford in the morning and the last Greenford at night.  As well as the 23:05 Oxford to Paddington and 00:34 Paddington to Oxford, the latter of which takes that last Greenford set back out as a 4-car.  The first Greenford is formed off of the 03:55 Reading to Paddington.

Then you have to two Night Riviera services as you say, giving a total of seven booked daily diesel movements.

Occasional 'extras' such as the Christmas Eve services above and if an IET (Intercity Express Train) is on a 'Diesel Only' restriction or there are problems with the wires.

Probably enough services to mean it can't be described as 'last regular diesel train 2019', but a hell of a lot quieter and more pleasant than it was when HSTs (High Speed Train) (Valenta days especially) and Class 180s were making a racket along with all the Turbos.

Compared to as little as 8 years ago Paddington is in effect diesel free, Waterloo (Exeter's) and London Bridge (Uckfield) see more diesel services than Paddington .  Geoff Marshal did a youtube on Drayton Green which covered the Greenford first and last train service https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLD6tX-yQS8

The only London terminus which is wholly diesel is Marylebone all the rest are plus 90% if not 100% electric
