Driver of a double decker bus attempted to pass beneath Twerton Arch. Not sure if this has stopped the trains.

I thought somebody said buses had a means of being warned of low bridges?

 Wink I think drivers should sit on the top deck. Might bring things into sharper focus  Smiley

With this one being so soon after a junction it wouldn’t have had much time to react after the bus turned off route.

Google Streetview:

Hmmm.
* Sign above bridge
* Sign on post beside bridge
* LOOKS low
... I would have thought those three levels of protection might have been enough

It's not long ago that someone tried to drive a (single decker) bus beneath Jews Lane bridge in Bath. The imprint of the bus might just be visible in this photo.

Gosh. I occasionally used to ride a motorbike under that 6' 6" bridge (never knew its name then) and always felt I should duck, so driving a bus through it just boggles my mind.
