That four successive trains (five if you include the clearly defective 1W29) should suffer "a problem with the traction equipment (MC)" must be a new record.

But is doesn't say "the traction equipment on this train".  A freight train sat down between Reading and Didcot this afternoon - perhaps the traction on that caused its failure and a whole series of knock-ons.

Indeed.  I’ll say it again…you need to interpret industry codes, that RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) and others harvest, loosely.

That makes a lot more sense. Thank you.

08:15 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington due 10:23 will be diverted between Worcester Shrub Hill and Reading.
It will no longer call at Worcestershire Parkway Hl, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough and Oxford but will call additionally at Cheltenham Spa and Didcot Parkway.
It has been delayed at Worcester Shrub Hill and is now 13 minutes late.
This is due to this train being late from the depot.

And a couple from yesterday:

1W25 1251 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street - cancelled between Oxford and Worcester Foregate Street due to unknown cause (ZW)
1P34 1631 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington - cancelled between Worcester Foregate Street and Oxford due to late arrival of an inbound service (YI)

I think there may have been a signal or signalling failure near Didcot North Junction yesterday that threw a lot of the timetable out of the window

There was which caused disruption from late morning to mid-afternoon. A number of the Oxford to/from Paddington services which didn't run from/to the north Cotswolds were cancelled but the two quoted were the only Cotswold cancellations.

For the record, the impact on yesterday's issues on the north Cotswolds was pretty disruptive.

Paddington to Charlbury services:

13:50 from Paddington - cancelled
14:53 - cancelled
15:52 - arrived at Charlbury 31 late
16:58 - cancelled
17:57 - arrived at Charlbury 23 late
18:57 - cancelled
20:52 - arrived at Charlbury 22 late

Charlbury to Paddington

14:12 from Charlbury - arrived 116 late at Paddington
15:10 - cancelled
16:10 - cancelled
17:10 - departed 26 late and arrived 42 late at Paddington
18:41 - cancelled
19:19 - departed 20 late and arrived 24 late at Paddington
20:14 - cancelled

No services running between Charlbury and Evesham due to engineering works.

15:52 London Paddington to Charlbury due 17:01 will be terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Hanborough and Charlbury.
It is being delayed between London Paddington and Reading and is now expected to be 28 minutes late.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.

17:12 Charlbury to London Paddington due 18:29 will be started from Oxford.
It will no longer call at Charlbury and Hanborough.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.

Taxis were being laid on at Oxford - not sure whether they then picked up further passengers from Charlbury.

This one should have spent the night at Hereford, but actually came back empty to Shrub Hill last night.
