Looks like it's the Westcountry's turn to face the
broken infrastructure issues today

Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Penzance via Plymouth

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Newton Abbot and Plymouth fewer trains are able to run. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Train services between London Paddington and Penzance via Plymouth may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Customer Advice
We're sorry for the disruption to your journey today.

Late yesterday evening, Network Rail advised that they have a significant signal failure affecting trains in both directions in the Totnes area. Network Rail teams are investigating the fault.

Trains are still operating between Plymouth and Exeter St Davids via Newton Abbot, however due to drivers having to contact the Signallers to traverse the affected area, which takes a significantly longer time than normal, only a limited number of services can run. A revised timetable is in operation today.

GWR (Great Western Railway) services from London Paddington and Reading to the West Country are still running, but with a reduced though service beyond Exeter St Davids, and with different calling patterns to the usual timetable.

GWR services from Penzance, Truro and St Austell towards Plymouth are less affected, however there is a reduced timetable for through services to Exeter St Davids, Taunton, Reading and London Paddington. Through services are likely to be busy and will take longer to reach Exeter St Davids.

Journey times will be significantly extended.

The signalling in this area has been 'fragile' for quite a while.
Hardly surprising then it has finally failed, fortunately I no longer commute
via this route, taking the option to drive.
