Welcome to a holding thread for Great British Railways information  at http://www.greatbritishrailways.info/ - as, when and if that project fledges, this URL may leave the nest and be redirected, and with a very clear link to the main site of Great British Railways. The Great British Railways Transition Team, official site site may be found at https://gbrtt.co.uk

In the meantime, welcome to the Great Western Railway Coffee Shop. Our search engine (don't worry - it's clean, not diesel or coal so environmentally safe) will find you Great British Railways in discussions and mirrored documents across our Passenger Forum - (link here). As fresh posts and documents get added, they will automatically come up at the top of the listing there.

About the "Coffee Shop" forum

This is a thread on the Great Western Coffee Shop forum, which has been running since 2007, links you to our various resources (links above) - at the time of posting we have over 25,000 topics in our archive / library, as well as over 1,000 industry documents mirrored for searching and reference. We are not commercially affiliated to Great British Railways nor funded by them.

Information here is provided by our members; all on-topic views are welcome, provided that are "legal and decent, friendly and honest", and if necessary that provision is enforced by our team of administrators and moderator - about 10 of us active.  In reality, we rarely have to enforce rules as our members are very much friends and comrades.

Membership is freely available to all - if you are not a member you can register via http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?action=register where you choose your handle, agree to post in line with our rules, accept GDPR, and supply basic contact details so that we can get in touch as we do our admin stuff.  Approval of membership is a manual process, as we get a lot of requests from people looking to "spam" us.  Please be patient if you sign up - give use 24 hours but then by all means chase up our admin by email (there's a link on the bottom of every page)

If you want a more detailed introduction - see http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/1761

This thread is a "landing page" and will be locked. There is a separate discussion on our hosting of passenger information about Great British Railways already running at  http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/28423 where all members are welcome to discuss (and guests welcome to read) our hosting of a GBR (Great British Railways) passenger forum. All members are (of course) welcome to discuss the whole wider topics we cover on the many thousands of other threads linked above.  We have locked this thread to avoid the landing page for newcomers wandering off into deep internal discussion!

Do you have something you would like to add to this thread, or would you like to raise a new question at the Coffee Shop? Please [register] (it is free) if you have not done so before, or login (at the top of this page) if you already have an account - we would love to read what you have to say!

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
