Can't explain the masses of them, but it has had these pop ups for a while, sometimes they even get through a pop up blocker which is rather annoying.

I have emailed National rail website the following...

"Hello, Every time I click on something on your web site today, I get a pop up advertising dell computers.. I didn't want to buy one first time round, and certainly not after the 50th time either.. This doesn't usually happen on your web site.. Is it a problem with it? I hope it's not an enhancement? Thank you Jo"

I have a mac with safari and I haven't had the pop up.

Probably because Safari has its own pop up blocker included.

i second that i never use ie i always belived that security wise it was flawed as proved recently firefox is my prefered browser but i have used safari the only reason i dont use it more is that silverlight doesnt work that well with it

"Thank you for your eMail regarding advertising on the National Rail Enquiries website.

Our site is currently experiencing technical difficulties which is causing the pop-under advertisements to continually appear on top of our page. Our Technical Team are currently working to rectify this and normal Service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Once again please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused and I trust that this matter will shortly be resolved."

I got the same message. I presume by "normal service" they mean the normal irritating pop-ups (unders?), but without every click resulting in one.

It seemed to have calmed down by yesterday afternoon,  so I presume they had already sorted it.

Hmm, I just managed to get a total of 29 "pop-ups" whilst I was on National Rail web site, so not totally sorted. However they do seem to pop up and then immediately sit in the back ground now rather than actually popping up and staying there! Which is an improvement. Smiley
