Last call for captions!    The competition closes in 15 hours - at 08:00 tomorrow.

I know so many of the caption writers well, so that it would be very hard for me to make a judgement that's seen to be fair and unbiased.  So earlier today I spoke with a good friend who I first me in 2005 at the very first "Save the Train" meeting, and asked for advise on whom the winner should be once the competition closes.  This friend is not a member of any of the forums I help with, but will be well known to some of you well beyond the town I'm posting from.  The mystery person will be revealed once the decision has been made.

P.S. reprise of picture for top of page 2

I asked Jenny Raggett, who is well known to many of us who advocate the full use of public transport in the South West organiser / administrator at Travel Watch South West amongst many roles in the region, to recommend a winner for me.   Jenny writes

"I think, given the context of the web site and the fact that nearly all trains do NOT stop at Melksham, that the winner has to be:"

"Its going to be a jolly long walk home if this train doesn't stop at Melksham."

"One cannot help feel that the dog looks so hopeful, but is bound to be disappointed!" adds Jenny.

-------------------

So - big thanks for Jenny (who's local station isn't on the TransWilts line!) for her judgement ... and our congratulations to ....

Timmer

A worthy winner indeed, but it was a hard decision with so many good and varied entries to choose between, I am told.

Now ... let me see what I have stashed in my bottom draw ... put aside to give to someone because I just couldn't resist it ....

Gosh what can I say  Shocked I'm speechless! I haven't won many things in my life so to win this is a special moment. Lets hope there will soon be more journey options for Graham's dog to travel by train to/from Melksham.
