I have noticed recently that it is becoming more and more the practice to avoid placing details of disruption to FGW (First Great Western) services on the nationalrail.co.uk site even though other operators services might be caught up in the disruption.

Take this morning for instance, there was a train breakdown at Cam and Dursley which caused the cancellation of the most used service from Yate, the 07:42 and regularly used by over 100 passengers.

Whilst this incident was reported on the FGW website and in the morning service bulletin e-mail from FGW, there was no mention of this on the nationalrail.co.uk website even though peak hour Virgin Cross Country services from Birmingham to Bristol and the Souht West would have been disrupted and possibly diverted via Gloucester, Lydney, Chepstow and Newport.

A knock on effect of this was the cancellation of the Exeter to Great Malvern service even though the failure was a southbound service (why) and the return working from Great Malvern to Worcester.

Yet another example of the Joint NR» (Network Rail - home page) / FGW Control Room at Swindon NOT working together.l

Erm.. Network Rail have nothing to do with the National Rail site, that is operated by ATOC» (Association of Train Operating Companies See - here).

I dont care WHO runs the National Rail site, just there seems to be a distinct lack of information on the site at times of disruption to FGW (First Great Western) services, would it be a conspiricey to keep FGW punters in the dark like as what happened this morning with a train breakdown at Cam and Dursley.
