If this trip is for a recognised charity, approach TOC▸ (Train Operating Company) for 'sponsorship' & see whether they might give you a ticket.....

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

Thanks Brucey for your explanantion of how to split tickets.

However, I keep coming back to why should I have to go to all this trouble, why can't the computer calculate the split for me? 

Or if that's beyond their capabilities, why aren't the fares rational so that I know if I buy a ticket between and A and D I get a cheaper fare than by splititng a B and C.

Also can anyone explain why Bristol Cosham is dearer than Bristol Havant.
