How much are the fares on London Buses nowadays. It is probably cheaper to purchase a travelcard.

Single bus journey in London is ^2 cash, ^1.20 with an Oyster^▸ Card.

I've often taken the bus from Praed Street, Paddington to another terminus when I'm travelling with split advances from Bristol to London then onwards. However, now that I've got a Lobster (as a friends Gran called it!) the single tube fare is a much more agreeable ^1.80 as opposed to the ^4.00 cash fare. And if I've got time to spare in London and I make a few public transport trips in zones 1-2 then with my Oyster I'll only pay a maximum of ^3.70 off peak per day.
