do you really need to make a saving? ^34.70 for an anytime return is quite good isn't it?.... can save you a pound by splitting at honiton :-)

There's very little to be gained by trying to split tickets on former Network Southeast routes (basically the area covered by the Network Railcard). Tickets generally follow a much simpler system of increments and day returns have much wider availability (Exeter or Weymouth to Waterloo for example) than FGW (First Great Western), so the system has fewer absurdities than most of the rail network.

To be fair - was my uncle - he's returning next week and wanted to do that journey - I said I will ask if there is a split saving but dont hold your breath
