Pretty simple solution would be for FGW (First Great Western) to start their late Sunday afternoon every 30 minutes frequency between Bristol to London earlier so there is a 1600 service to Pad between the 1530 and the 1630...which is what they are doing from the start of the winter timetable on December 12th.

Which doesn't appear in the new Bristol to London timetable. Is this not happening now and that the last edition of Modern Railways was incorrect to mention this in their Winter timetable review? I don't have a copy anymore to refer to remind myself of what was said.

Modern Railways definitely reported thus:

"...an earlier arrival time back in the capital by after a w/e away, by introducing an additional 1600 working on Sundays from Bristol to Paddington. Balancing this a 1930 SuO ((in timetables) Sunday only) service on this route is withdrawn."

Neither seem to have happened this time round do they, so I wonder if MR (Midland Railway) have accidentally brought it forward from May?  They seem to have put a few May changes into the article here and there for some reason anyway.

The proposed change doesn't seem to be in FGW (First Great Western)'s Dec 2010 track access application either, which strongly supports the cockup theory...

That's my thought too Paul that they were reporting on another change taking place in May. Shame that because this extra service appears to be needed now not next May.
