Do you know this man? CCTV images of train sex assault suspect

New CCTV images have been released of a man police want to speak to about an incident where a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a train between Bath and Trowbridge.

British Transport Police officers have issued an appeal for information in the hope that someone will recognise the man.

The victim, a 17-year-old woman, was sitting on the platform at Bath Spa railway station at around 10am on Monday August 23 when she was approached by a man who tried to make conversation.

She then boarded the 10.08am service to Weymouth and the man followed her and sat next to her. He started touching her leg and attempted to kiss her, before getting off the train at Trowbridge.

Investigating officer PC Andy Boston said the victim had been left ^shocked and upset^ by what had happened and they were appealing for anyone with information to come forward. He said: ^I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images, or who knows his whereabouts, to contact police straight away as we believe he will be able to help us with our enquiries.^

Anyone with information is asked to call British Transport Police on 0800 405040, quoting incident number 207 of 24/08/2010, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
