Thanks for your restraint, everyone!

Please bear with me, for a few minutes, while I separate those latest posts relating to a sporting personality from all the previous ones, which actually formed the basis of an interesting discussion of the original topic here!

Edit Note: Thanks again - several posts, which refer to a specific legal case, have now been moved to our 'frequent posters' board: please do continue to discuss the merits (or not!) of 'tweet' in general terms here! Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

If anyone is now following @bookcascade and wondering who the heck this is, please don't panic!  I've gone and changed my username to promote a website that I'm launching.

Don't tweet very often, just when the mood takes me.

i've finally given up on Facebook... i used to use it all the time up until the point were the people i'm friends with at the moment stopped posting as frequently or were posting anything worth reading. for this reason i have now moved over to Twitter where i am now so much more active, as there is always tons going on there and so much interesting things being talked about/trending. over all i am beggining to love Twitter more than Facebook.  Grin

Facebook [...] Twitter

Let me see if I have this right: the only time you ever use your shift key is when you type the words 'Facebook' and 'Twitter'? FFS (for goodness' sake (a more polite definition))...

Have to say, it's a very poor bit of software if it can't also auto correct the start of a sentence, the first person singular and it's associated contractions such as 'I've', 'I'm' etc.

I guess the developers see it as more important that social media sites get their capital letter (despite both facebook and twitter's logos being lower case) than ensuring decent grammar.

Mine auto capitalises the first letter of eash sentence, and even knows the words in the middle that need capital letters.
A problem I've noticed is if you write the word ill it changes it to I'll. Hell becomes he'll or vice versa. The auto correct bloody annoys me, some of the sms messages I've sent have been down right ridiculous when I haven't paid attention to the autocorrect does!

My iPhone 4 running the latest software version does all of those auto corrections although sometimes it can be a nuisance.  If you are not feeling so well ill becomes I'll - so it isnt always a bonus.   Grin
