Linda Barker tops up the glamour at Barratt in Melksham

Interior design TV personality Linda Barker brought added style to Barratt^s Melksham development as she visited The Gateway recently.

I recall the houses at Foundry Close - in the background in this picture:

being sold on the basis of being "close to the station" ... without refrerence to the rarity of trains.

Perhaps I should pop down to the sales office tomorrow and invite them to the update on Friday.  In all seriiousness, they might like to sponsor something which would raise the value of their product.

I *did* pop into the sales office on Thursday and extended an invite through the sole team member present for someone from Barratt's to come along the following morning to Trowbridge and be part of the process to actually getting the decent links from the local station to many places including Bristol.   She told me that the information in the article was off the Barratt's web site and she was fully aware it was wrong, and that she had pointed it out to the folks who look after the site ....

When I suggested that an improved local train service would add value to the properties / development, she didn't agree - which makes me rather curious as to why the service was actually claimed on the web site in the first place.  However, I see that the site now says The nearest train station is in Trowbridge which provides links to Bath, Bristol Temple Meads, Cardiff Central and London Paddington.
