Hi Grahame,

I've created a topsites list at http://topsites.voltageforums.com/. Admittedly my site is the only member so far but i've been promoting it fairly heavily today and hopefully in a few weeks it should become a hive of activity. Would you consider registering this site and perhaps SaveTheTrain on there? It would be a good way to make other people aware of the existence of this site. If this sounds too pluggy then please delete my post!

Cheers,
ABP

Probably better to email me (graham@wellho.net) or send me a p.m. rather than have this as an "open question".   Slightly pluggy - but we are here to represent our regular members interests (had you to post just this, it probably would have been deleted).    We will typically link to other sites where it's useful for our member's information, or where we can mutually gain "rank" for search engines.   However, linking to "link farms" can be detrimental - that is to sites that are pages of links with very little real original content, and with a low/no  ranking themselves.

As I say - send me an email or p.m. with a full case if you like. And there is nothing at all to stop you, and anyone else who wants to, linking to us to our mutual benefit.  Indeed - I'm very grateful to everyone who provides a link; it helps new readers find us!

Do you have something you would like to add to this thread, or would you like to raise a new question at the Coffee Shop? Please [register] (it is free) if you have not done so before, or login (at the top of this page) if you already have an account - we would love to read what you have to say!

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
