DO YOU RECOGNISE THESE MEN? BRITISH TRANSPORT POLICE ISSUE CCTV IMAGES FOLLOWING ASSAULT ON TRAIN - PENZANCE
British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating an alleged assault on board a train travelling between Plymouth and Penzance have today released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
Officers last week issued an appeal for witnesses following the incident which took place on the 1239hrs Plymouth-Penzance service shortly before it arrived at Penzance rail station at around 2.30pm on Friday 1 April.
Investigating officer, PC Bob Edwards, said: ^After speaking to witnesses who came forward after the initial witness appeal, officers have viewed CCTV images from on board the train and we would now like to identify and trace the two men in these photographs.
PC Edwards said: "The 19-year-old victim, who is from Penzance, reported to police that he was punched by one of two men travelling in the same carriage who had earlier made intimidating comments towards him. The victim suffered a cut to his eye and swelling to his cheek and was left shaken by the incident. I would ask anyone who recognises either of these men, or who knows their current whereabouts, to contact police straight away. Similarly, if you witnessed this incident and haven^t yet spoken to police, I^d ask you to come forward in confidence.^
