Split ticket options - Wokingham to Isle of Wight

Against my better judgement I'm being persuaded to go to the Isle of Wight with two other adults for the day on the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend - probably the Saturday. We can use Groupsave 3 but anyone have an easy way of checking whether split tickets would bring the price down further. Planning to go via Portsmouth on the catamaran and through to Ryde Esplanade.

I very much doubt split-ticketing works inside the old Nertwork South-East area.

I don't think there are any splits, but the hovercraft is cheaper.

(All off-peak day returns)

Wokingham - Ryde Esp - ^97.50 with GS3
Wokingham - Ryde Hoverport - ^88.05 with GS3*

* = This is a non-standard discount (i.e. the hovercraft fare is not subject to GS3) as the fare for one person is ^37.50

Its been a long time since I've seen this part of The Manual (so things may have changed), but the hoverport option used to include a free ride on the hoverbus between Portsmouth & SS and Southsea.

Have never considered the hovercraft before but that looks like a good bet. Thanks for the tip. Just got to convince one of the party to forget her weightwatcher's points total for the day and we'll have a fine old time. Grin
