I have an issue with some advance tickets for next weekend (basically I lost my rail card and ISIC cards don't exist anymore which means my loop hole for getting a rail card instantly doesnt exist - can get one but takes two weeks which is too late for next weeks tickets!)

I want to change my advance tickets for advance no discount tickets but am going to be pushing it to do it at bristol and unless someone like ollie is on the counter at PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) it can be a bit interesting explain abnormal transactions...

So would east coast in peterborough be able to change them?

Any ticket office with the facility to do reservations can do it, so Peterborough deffo could.

Thanks

Next question

I bought two tickets - one at YP rate and one at non discount rate - both advance purchase however...

Can the tickets be re-issued in advance just without the YP discount or would it go on whatever advance rate are available at the time I make the change?

So effectively if my ticket was 24.00 and I paid 16.00 cos of the discount can I just get them re-issued at 24.00 but if there are no 24.00 left today when I change them, do I have to pay the higher price?  Effectively I'm not cancelling the ticket, I just cant take the discount anymore (well not until my NUS extra card arrives in two weeks!)

You won't have your YP card or its replacement next weekend, so technically that ticket is invalid.

Whether one is able to (re)pay the discount claimed and reissue the ticket at full price, I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if you can't at all - meaning you need to buy again at whatever ADV price you can get now, and put the YP ticket in for refund (less the admin fee)

With changing advance tickets you change to what the price is at the time of changing it.

About to mail you though.

Ollie - what happens if there aren't any available at the time of doing this? Can you upgrade to a walk-up fare? Or do you lose the ticket?

Indeed, I would guess any change (even within ADV tickets as above) would incur an admin charge of ^10....

Seeing as the fee had already been mentioned I didn't feel it was worth saying again, but you are of course correct.
