(Nearly) useless fact of the day:

To travel by road between Yeovil Pen Mill and Yeovil Junction takes 6-7 minutes and the distance is 2^ miles.

To travel by regular timetabled rail services (Pen Mill-Castle Cary-Westbury-Salisbury-Junction) takes 2^ hours and the distance is 96 miles!

Weren't there plans to build a Southeastern curve from Yeovil Junction to the Weymouth line so that  trains to and from Weymouth would serve both Junction and Pen Mill reversing at the Junction.

I'm not aware of any recent plans to do that.

Building a south east curve wouldn't be too problematical. There used to be one and the track bed is still largely there.

South West Coaches' service 68 currently provides a half-hourly service between the two stations for most of the day, Monday to Saturday, with a journey time of 12 minutes. Incidentally, there don't appear to be any available fares for the Pen Mill - Junction rail journey, perhaps not surprisingly!

I looked at fares. If you are dead set on catching a train between YVP and YVJ you are looking at around ^35 for a single journey. You will need more than one ticket......
