A good article about shaping the future of the Greater Western franchise, but also an article on page 32 "Watch the birdie" about TOC (Train Operating Company)'s using Twitter.  The @fgw didn't come off very well, however a certain person did:

Quote
...but @fgwOllie - a helpful member of staff at Paddington using his own phone in a private capacity - took less than 10 minutes to respond.  His instant knowledge is what people on Twitter are looking for..."

made me laugh the other day on the @fgw, ollie had tweeted the answer to a blokes question, the bloke tweeted in response to the fgw official one to tell fgwollie to butt out!

I must say the fgw tweet thing seems full of morons who dont have a clue looking to hurl abuse at someone. you see tweets tagged @fgw that its fgw fault their life is crap, and they missed the bus every day, or they were late for work every day. I have a simple solution, catch an earlier train!

The funnier thing was that he was mentioning me in his tweets, so of course I'm going to answer.

He did apologise though and I have helped him out again since then.

Most of the people I have communicated with on Twitter have been pretty pleasant (including the person in question), so I have been pretty fortunate Smiley

I find the vast majority moderate their language as soon as they realise that a woman is on the other end....

Fair enough - but Ollie is not a woman?

Actually, he's a great bloke - very knowledgeable member of FGW (First Great Western) staff: if in doubt, ask Ollie!  Wink

I would love to be fgw Twitter person.
There's one that says there will be trouble if fgw make him late for an interview. My response would be get an earlier train and arrive in plenty of time.

Another moans that fgw always arranges engineering for her weekends off when she wants to travel. Seriously how dim are some of them?
