Personally I think diagrams of 158s on Maesteg is a waste of 158s. I hope they are not going to continue with that once all 158s have been refurbished. The nicest/most comfortable trains should be used on the longest distance journeys IMO (in my opinion) (Manchester-North and South Wales, Cardiff-North Wales, Heart of Wales and Cambrian. No wonder they often replace them with 150s on Maesteg which are sufficient. 

We have the situation where Pembroke Dock and Heart of Wales sometimes have 150s (or in the case of Pembroke Dock, Pacers) which are more long distance jouneys where people may have luggage whilst a stopping service like Cardiff-Maesteg has 158s diagrammed with plenty of room for luggage etc. Also the Cardiff-Cheltenham end of the journey is a stopping service too so doesnt really need a 158, although people are more likely to be travelling long distance this end of the journey as could be connecting into CrossCountry services at Cheltenham Spa (or would they go via Bristol Parkway and use a FGW (First Great Western) 125 rather than a 150!)

A 150 has been on the daytime Fishguard which goes via Swansea District whenever ive seen it apart from maybe one occasion when it was a pacer.
