I am reliably informed that the first of our 150/1's has arrived at St Phillips marsh, 150127 to be precise!

When we hired some before Wessex only produced a conversion booklet for the minor differences, don't think full training will be required as all of the important things are the same as a 150/2

Was the booklet all you needed then, so there was no 'type training' involved? FGW (First Great Western) will have to get the crews to dig out there Wessex Books!

The differences are fairly minor, am sure a 'booklet' or a quick briefing would suffice. Crew prefer them as they give better visibility, no gangway connection obscuring the view to the drivers right.....

you certainly are....i saw it at BTM (Bristol Temple Meads (strictly, it should be BRI)) at about 330pm.......mind you someone will moan about it for sure colour scheme too gawdy , seats too hard, not enough leg room etc etc

We dont know that for sure. See quote below :

The latest RUMOUR is that Network Rail Have barred FGW (First Great Western) from using 142's as of today, 12th November, and that FGW will now be using 150/1's instead for the new timetable. I must stress this is not confirmed, and wondered if anyone has any more info?
It is believed that it was a 'paperwork' issue which has now been resolved and that crew traing resumes today so the 142s December debut is still very much on! This despite the arrival of 2 150/1s seen at Bristol yesterday.

150127 is one of the batch of 150's that were destined for us next year but we've had it earlier so yes it will take the place of a 142 eventually!
