It's not Taunton - even I know that!  Wink Cheesy Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

Here's another one:

-------

Ticket office opening
    Monday-Saturday 05:30-21:30
    Sunday 06:45-21:30
Self-service machines
    Yes
Collect from counter
    Yes
Collect from machine
    Yes

    Situated by the ticket office.
Oyster (Smartcard system used by passengers on Transport for London services) PAYG (Pay as you go)
    No
Penalty fares

    Penalty Fares apply to journeys from Bristol Temple Meads station when travelling with:

        * First Great Western

    Penalty Fares do not apply if travelling with:

        * Arriva Trains Wales
        * CrossCountry

----

Arriva Trains Wales have stopped serving Bristol Temple Meads AFAIK ('as far as I know')... And no mention of South West Trains Waterloo/Salisbury Services...!! Also I do believe the ticket office is open slightly later than 21:30... I recall purchasing a FC (First Class, or Fat Controller, or Football Club, depending on context) upgrade for the SWT (South West Trains) Salisbury service at 22:00 ish...!

This could cause confusion for passengers who travel on an ATW (Arriva Trains Wales (former Train Operating Company)) 150 from Temple Meads.  Is this a FGW (First Great Western) or ATW service?  I would assume it is FGW, so you could be PFed, even though the train is branded as Arriva Trains Wales.

Could they have included this as Penalty Fares may not apply to FGW trains operated by a ATW crew?  I don't know, but this could be a reasonable assumption as FGW don't do PFs (Penalty Fare) in South Wales.
